Follow this 3-part practice structure! It's best to know what you need to practice before you start.

Rudimental Worksheet

Sheet Music

It's essential you begin every practice session with the rudimental worksheet to develop control and core techniques. Whenever you hear a pro drummer do something 'special', it's more than likely a rudiment.

Your Drum Kit

Buying a drum kit for the first time? Or upgrading! The big questions always are:

  • Your budget?

  • How much space do you have?

  • How much noise can, or can't, you make?

  • Reputable brands?

  • Where to buy?

Drum Accessories

Help and advice on:

  • Books

  • Sticks

  • Pads

  • Mute pads (Be quiet!)

  • Headphones & Leads

Struggling to find time to practice?

Getting yourself sat down to play is often the biggest challenge... Trust me, I know!

  1. Begin by making a small commitment: Start with three 20 minute practice sessions a week. Less is better than none.

  2. Once you get into a routine, it will become habit and you will likely playing for longer!

  3. Increase how many times a week you practice and how long for. This must be a manageable amount that you can sustain and enjoy.
